Stainless steel sinks are easy to care for.

Water spots and mineral deposits can be prevented by rinsing thoroughly after each use and wiping dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Use only non-abrasive cleaners. Stainless steel sinks will show day-to-day wear, including minor scratches. Over time this wear will become uniform with the sink’s grain, creating its own unique character, much like the patina on fine silver.

How to Care for Your Stainless Steel Sink

• Clean your stainless steel sink on a frequent, regular basis.
• When cleaning your stainless steel sink, ensure the sink is clean and dry.
• Use a mild abrasive cleanser such as Old Dutch, Comet or Cameo.
• When cleaning and scrubbing, follow the direction of the grain of the stainless steel sink. Any scrubbing against the grain will result in scratches.
• Always rinse stainless steel sinks thoroughly after cleaning, and wipe with a cloth to prevent any water-spotting.
• If there is a mineral deposit build-up, use vinegar, Lime-Away or CLR, and flush with water.
• Use stainless steel bottom grids to prevent the sink bowl from any scratching or markings from kitchen utensils and cutlery.

Precautions

• DO NOT use steel wool pads to clean your stainless steel sink. The small iron particles of the pads will lead to rusting and corrosion. It is highly recommended to use scouring pads, such as ScotchBrite to clean.
• DO NOT keep any mild steel or cast iron cookware in the stainless steel sink for long periods of time, since it will result in permanent staining of the sink.
• DO NOT leave rubber dish mats, sponges, or cleaning pads in the stainless sink overnight. It can lead to staining and discoloration of the stainless steel sink.
• DO NOT use chlorine bleach as a cleanser, for it may cause pitting. NOTE: Some bacterial soaps contain chlorine compounds.
• BE AWARE that any sink drain cleaning product containing sulphuric or hydrochloric acid will damage the stainless steel sink.
