How to Care for your Sinks
How to Care for your Acrylic Sink
We recommend cleaning acrylic sinks with a powder detergent like Ajax or Comet. The special satin gloss finish is improved with powder detergents but all liquid detergents will also prove satisfactory.
How to Care for your Copper Sink
Copper sinks can be used for all normal household tasks but avoid prolonged surface exposure to acidic foods such as tomato sauce and citrus products. If these products sit overnight in direct contact with copper, the surface may discolor. Should the surface discolor, it will start to darken back down with use.
How to Care for your Granite Sink
Most deposits can be removed with washing up liquid and hot water followed by a clean water rinse. It is also good practice to then dry the sink with a soft cloth, as otherwise limescale can build up on the surface. BLANCOCLEAN® can be used on all sinks except for black ones
How to Care for your Porcelain Sink
Fill a porcelain sink with hot water and add a cup of bleach to it to deal with long standing stains. Let it sit for an hour or two. Clean it out with dish washing liquid to clean all traces of bleach out.
How to Care for your Stainless Steel Sink
Stainless steel sinks are easy to care for. Water spots and mineral deposits can be prevented by rinsing thoroughly after each use and wiping dry with a clean, soft cloth. Use only non-abrasive cleaners. Stainless steel sinks will show day-to-day wear, including minor scratches. Over time this wear will become uniform with the sink’s grain, creating its own unique character, much like the patina on fine silver.
